Biblical Predestination Part 4 - Is Salvation Only for the Elect

Is Salvation Only for the Elect

Does not the Bible say that only whom God foreknew and predestined would be the only ones who are saved and the rest goes to hell?

No.

Here is the scripture people like to quote

Rom 8:29 — Rom 8:32
"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified."

This is a prime example why we need to read the Bible in Context...

Who was Paul referring to? Answer the elect.

Romans 8:33
Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

This predestination was in context the elect.

It was applied to the elect. So what was the predestined plan? To be conformed to His Son.

Do we really understand what predestination is and what is was for?

*Predestination was the process by which an elect is selected to go through the predestined plan to live by faith first so that they can be a blessing to the whole world so that all the gentiles are blessed.*

It was applied to the elect.

The elect started with Shem chosen, then Noah then Abraham and from him all nations would be blessed.

It's not the Calvinist notion that God predestined which humans would be saved and which would not.

The elect was the remnant of Israel who then like Abraham lived by faith instead of relying on the law.

The elect back then that Paul referred to in the first century were preserved but the rest was of Israel was blinded.

Romans 11:7 "What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded."

So the elect was shown to be not just the seed of Abraham but those who lived by faith.

But guess what. Even when the elect was foreknown and predestined, that does not mean the rest cannot be saved.

The elect were elected by God to be an example to the rest.

Even though the rest were blinded and NOT the elect, yet all Israel would be saved. Got that. The non elect can be saved.

Further more the reason there is a elect is so that the rest of the nations would be blessed and what is that blessing? [True] Israel was blessed first, but then rest of mankind was to be blessed in having being turned from our iniquities .

Act 3:25 — Act 3:26
You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

That was the blessing. That was the purpose of being elected.

So Jacob was loved/ elected, Esau was not, so that Esau and the Gentiles can be saved.

Israel was redeemed/ elected, Egypt and Assyria were not so that Egypt and Assyria can become His people along with Israel.

If you understood that you understand God's divine predestined plan and the true heart of God.

Further more what was predestined? We focus so much on who was predestined [which I showed it was an elect by faith, which does not mean the non elect cannot be saved], but not on the more important issue on what exactly was the predestined plan.

Yes the elect was the first century Jews along with all Israel in the past who believed like Abraham and not blinded like the rest, who wanted to hold onto Moses.

All of Paul's writings was to get Jews to leave Moses and come to Christ and fulfill their mission by being a light to Gentiles.

Paul said that was the gospel preached even to Abraham. He defined the Abrahamic blessing as the first gospel of Christ.

You guys want final proof? Look at exactly what God foresaw? Elect chosen in Abraham so that all nations be blessed, which means Gentiles getting saved and justified.. .

Galatians 3:8
And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.”

The predestined plan was the seed to bless all nations.

How much more clearer can it get.

Ultimately Christ was the one elected as the Seed of Abraham, in the final analysis to bless all.

The predestined plan was that ONLY in Him, we are made holy and conformed to His image. *IN HIM* was the plan.

Christ is the ultimate predestined one and the predestined plan and process.

Eph 1:5 — Eph 1:7
having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

It's in Him the choosing was made.

It is in Him the inheritance was predestined.

The goal is through an elect, Him, people of faith, that all things in heaven and earth are gathered and summed up in one in Christ.

Eph 1:10 — Eph 1:11
that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
