Christ on Hell - Destroy Body and Soul Part 4

Image
Christ On Hell - Body and Soul Destroyed Part 4 "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell [Gehenna]." (NKJV) Let's address this. 1. First the word for hell in that verse is Gehenna, not Hades. Any good Bible student would know those are different. "`And be not afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but fear rather Him who is able both soul and body to destroy in Gehenna." (YLT) 2. When people died before Christ, bodies go to ground, souls to Hades, or Sheol and spirit goes back to God. Christ's death and resurrection changed all of that but that's another topic. 3. All souls before Christ died and resurrected, went to Hades. All Jews knew that. 4. In Matt 10:28 Christ did not mention Hades. Here Christ in typical Christ fashion is mentioning a new concept - souls going to Gehenna. That's completely new. It tells you that Gehenn...

Christ on Hell - Every Verse Part 3

Image
Part 3 - Christ on Hell/ Every Verse Again. Jesus did not talk about Hell. He spoke about Gehenna. Once again, Gehenna (that the King James version translated as Hell) is Valley of Tophet, or Hinnom. When Jesus referred to Gehenna, He was referring to the then upcoming judgment and subsequent destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, which was God's wrath with fire burning Jerusalem and the temple. It happened with the same unquenchable fire that burned Sodom or 185k Assyrian bodies thrown in the same fire pit (Isa. 30:31-33; 33:12) or the same fire judgement that Edom was thrown into (Isa. 34:9-10).  This wrath fulfilled Jeremiah's prophecy about the Valley of Ge-Hinnon (Gehenna for short) Jer 7:32-34, Jer 19:1-15; Jer. 31:38-40 where it became a valley of slaughter with literal fire and dead bodies.  Luke 12:49 - Christ wished to bring fire on that earth (or the land), and he knew that the wicked servants, will be beaten with many blows, and assigned a place with the unbelievers. T...

Christ on Hell - Gehenna Part 2

Image
Part 2 - Christ on Hell Before I show you ever place Christ used the word, Gehenna, you need to have some background on what exactly Gehenna is. There are three or four words for hell - Sheol/ Hades, Gehenna and Tartaroo. Hades was cast  into the lake of fire. AD 70 was Gehenna representing the valley of Hinnom , Tophet. Read Jer . 19, Matt 5:22, and Isa 66:22-24. Tartaroo was referenced by Peter who knew the Greek myth about Zeus locking up the titans in Tartaroo.  Peter corrected them  and said, it was actually Yahweh who locked up the real titans from Noah's day. In Old Testament times, all the bad stuff and bad people, all the incense altars.. wicked Queens.. you name it, all bad  stuff were cast into the Kidron Valley or the Valley of Hinnom .... Kidron is adjacent to the Tophet and Valley of Hinnom ( Gehenna). In addition,  in Hinnom, wicked folks sacrificed their sons and daughters to Molech, something that God forbade them to do.   (2 Kings 23:10; 2...

Christ on Hell - Gehenna Part 1

Image
Part 1 - Christ on Hell So you think Christ spoke on hell right? You forget that Christ spoke Aramaic.  The word is Gehenna. Before I list every single verse with hell from Christ, please, please don't take my word for it.  Study for yourself. As an example for to the interlinear bible on biblehub.com and research it. Here is an example: Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the [Sanhedrin] Council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the Valley of Hinnom [Gehenna] fire. As I mention before, just do a interlinear bible search on the Bible verses where people claim that Christ spoke on hell and you would see that it is the word Gehenna used, not even Hades (Except for one place Luke 17) So before I list every verse where Christ used the word Gehenna, many of you would need some background on exactly w...

Christ on Hell - Series

Image
Christ on Hell Series A lot people say that there is no one who spoke more on hell than Christ... They claim, Jesus talked a lot about Hell. No he did not. " By my count (with the help of some BibleWorks magic), there are 1,944 verses in the four gospels that contain Jesus’ words. Surprisingly,  only about 60 of those verses–or an unwhopping three percent of them—might be construed as either directly or indirectly referring to hell. On the other hand, there are more than three times as many verses in the gospels in which Jesus references heaven, eternal life, or his coming kingdom: 192 verses in all, or almost 10%. So Jesus did not, in fact, speak more about hell than heaven. But many people who should know better still seem hell-bent on insisting that He did."  Did Jesus Speak more about hell than heaven. He talked a lot about Gehenna The word "hell" never came out of Jesus' mouth. Jesus spoke Aramaic. He said "Gehenna" which is quite different. Loo...

Why Doesn't God Save Everyone?

Image
My response to Adam Ford's "Why doesn't God save everyone?" : Yes all men are sinners. Yes all men deserved judgment. What was that Judgment? It was Death... not Hell. The bible says the wages of sin was death. This comic does not understand biblically what hell is. Which hell to begin with? Hades? Sheol? That is the grave. Gehenna? That was the Valley of Hinnom and where Jerusalem was burned with fire in AD 70. Tartaroo? That was a Greek concept Peter referred to. If you want to talk about the Lake of Fire then so be it. The Lake of Fire is not "hell" biblically, as Hades/ Hell is cast into the Lake of fire. So if you want to be biblical use the term Lake of Fire instead. So yes since God is omniscient He knew who at the end would go to the Lake of Fire and who would not... But.... let's go to the end of the book. Inexplicably we find those cast into the Lake of Fire are found Outside the City ON THE NEW EARTH. What????? I thought they were bei...

Is God Angry Forever?

Image
Does "forever" always mean "forever" in scripture?  No. Case in point.  "And you, even yourself, Shall let go of your heritage which I gave you; And I will cause you to serve your enemies In the land which you do not know; For you have kindled a fire in My anger which shall burn forever.” [Jer 17:4]  Wait. The scripture says "His Anger shall burn forever".  How?  I am going to send for all the tribes of the north, says the Lord, even for King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, my servant, and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants, and against all these nations around; I will utterly destroy them, and make them an object of horror and of hissing, and an everlasting disgrace [Jer 25:9]  Israel would be an everlasting disgrace and utterly destroyed. Annihilated even :-)    ------  BUT Wait, what is this?   For the days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Isr...

Survey Says... Beyond Lake of Fire

Image
" The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire" [Rev 20:13-15] "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." [Rev 21:6-18] "And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. 25 Its gates shall not be shut...
