How to Know that you really Know God

 

Lesson 101 - How to Know that you really Know God.

Answer - Practice the weightier matters of mercy, justice, faith, love, especially in taking care of the poor and needy, the unloved, instead of being a modern day conservative legalist, the avenger of the law, with only one declaration,  of "law and order" or "but they broke the law".  If you are OK with just shouting "law and order" and turn a blind eye when oppression is practiced, you don't know God.

This is the type of behavior Christ deplores...an entire nation before (Israel) was judged for this appetite, especially those who do so in God's Name.

Knowing God is practicing mercy, and not oppression. Get the criminals first, not the mom waiting for brain surgery.

Jer 22:15 — Jer 22:17

“Did not your father eat and drink,

And do justice and righteousness?

Then it was well with him.

He judged the cause of the poor and needy;

Then it was well.

*****Was not this knowing Me?”***** says the Lord.

“Yet your eyes and your heart are for nothing but your covetousness,

For shedding innocent blood,

And practicing oppression and violence.”

Observe the law yes, but find pleasure in exercising the weightier parts of the law, that is, justice, mercy and faith...

Matthew 23:23

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you.....have neglected the weightier matters of the (immigration) law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
