Depart from me for I never knew you.
"Many
will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your
name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your
name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart
from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" [Matt 7:22-23]
Who is the many who way we have done great works and He said he never knew? Who practice lawlessness?
In what Day this occurred?
"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’" [Matt 25:41
So it looks like practicing "lawfullness" and being qualified amounts to works... --> feed the hungry, give drink, clothe the naked, visit the sick and imprisioned....
WAIT?? I thought salvation is NOT based on Works? Where is belief on this?
And who are the ones who will be weeping an gnashing of teeth?
-----------
Let's put it together.
Luke 13 has the same phrase
27 But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ 28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out.
[Luke 13:27-28]
Who will be thrust out and gnash teeth?
Why the sons of the Kingdom...the unbelieving Jews:
" And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” [Matt 8:11-12]
The sons of the Kingdom are the ones who practiced lawlessness and who ignored when to show mercy. They are the ones who are cast out when others came in and sit with Abraham, Issac and Jacob.
When did this occur?
This is why in Luke 13, Christ in CONTEXT, mourned over Jerusalem when the House became desolate and they are cast out...
"“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! 35 See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly,I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’" [Luke 13:34-35]
So in context, people were saying God judged Galileans as the worse of sinners, or because the tower in Siloan fell on 18, they are the worse of sinners, but Christ corrected them stating that this was not so... Jerusalem if they did not repent will perish, be judged, through to outer darkness with many gnashing teeth. To them He said He never knew because they practice lawlesness...
----
Also if you recall He was sent to the Lost sheep of Israel. Everything He said was mainly for israel until the Kingdom was taken away from them and given to another who can bear fruit.
Else leave your job today, and make sure and be better than Mother Teresa for you are in danger of not making it.
