Idols of the Heart - False Prophets

 


A LOT of these FALSE TRUMP PROPHETS forget that If you serve the idols in your heart, God will answer you accordingly because you wish to listen to the voice of that idol, rather than His Voice...

Trump was your idol. The Republic Party was your idol. Abortion was your idol.
"3 “Son of man, these men have set up their *idols in their hearts*, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them?
4 “Therefore speak to them, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols, 5 that I may seize the house of Israel by their heart, because they are all estranged from Me by their idols.” ’" [Ezek 14:3-5]

So what are the gods and idols of the heart I see people worship today in America, mistaking it for a Christian country, and mistaking one particular political ideology as representative of right and light (as someone told me), mistaking it as the Voice of Christ...
These are the gods and idols in the heart of America, especially evangelicals:
1. military
2. free market
3. money
4. large corporations
5. how much you have accomplished with your own bootstraps
6. law and order
7. how rich you are; successful business
8. how many members in your church
9. conservatism
10. nationalism

Maturity trumps Ideology any day.
Love trumps free market any day.
God is the true Power and in no man we can trust.
God over Money.
Gospel over Conservatism.
Kingdom over Country.
Grace, mercy, peace over law and order.
True Liberty over Liberalism.
Principles over Politics.
Charity over Capitalism.
Wisdom over Ideology
Christ over President.

We need money, some conservatism, country, law and order, some liberalism, politics, capitalism, a President, but that is not where we hitch our wagons and stake our lives on. That is NOT OUR CORE.
We stake our lives on God, Gospel, Kingdom, Grace, mercy and peace, True Liberty, Love, Principles, and Christ. This is OUR CORE. This is the ONLY THING we dare pivot on.

Being nationalistic does not support that. It filters everything through the superiority or virtues of a nation at any expense.

It is the nations of this world that have become the Kingdom of our God.

Narrow Gate vs Broad Way

That quote also comes from Luke 13... the ENTIRE Chapter is the context.. We can't just pull one verse to form a doctrine. This is the quote.. "Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?” And He said to them, 24 “ Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able" The question is saved from what?  is this talking about "eternal salvation"? Questions: Why do we pray for God's will to be done if it is always done? What am I missing? Did he not know about it after all since the beginning?
