Christ's Life is the Light of All men
Christ is Life.
He that has the Son has Life and He that has not the Son has not Life.
Yet, "In Him we live move and have our being" was a poem to Zeus that Paul quoted, to show that "the Him" is not Zeus but God.
So yes in Christ all things consist. Yet not everyone is tapping into that life.
Some have the Spirit and some do not.
Some even have unclean spirits "For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!”"
Some raised to life, some to condemnation.
BUT that does not mean all will not have Life in the end. But for now not everyone has the Spirit.
Christ is the Beginning and the End.. another way of saying this is All that was in the Beginning is Christ, all that is in the End is Christ.
Also, Paul said "For out of Him, through Him and ****Back to Him**** are all things" [Rom 11:36]
So all things are destined to go back to Him.
Paul said it differently in Epjh 1:9 - 10. He called it the mystery of His will or the ages. The purpose of life as he states is to gather all things in heaven and in earth in Him, so that Christ can be the SUM of all things.
"having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one ALL THINGS IN Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him."
----
And we see hints of that even in Rev 22, which suppose to be the end, but we see the wicked on the New Earth, outside open gates, with a tree of life for healing of nations.
Now why would God allow the wicked, the dogs to be on the New earth (whatever your interpretation of New Earth is)... that is risky. He is risking everything going to hell again :-)
And neither the Bride, nor the Spirit, nor Christ need to eat to be healed.
Finally, back to the Spirit. You cannot confess Jesus is Lord to His Glory except by the Spirit.
The way to test if it is the Spirit of God is known:
"Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit." [1 Cor 12:3]
"By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that[a] Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God" [1 John 4:2-3]
Yet we see the declaration that every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord... you cannot do that to God's Glory except by the Spirit. And that word for confess is swear on your right hand, and swear like God swore on the throne. What did God swear?
That the earth will be turned to Him and Be saved, even though some will be put to shame. He defined salvation as "every tongue swearing like He swore and every knee worshiping"... That is how God defined salvation...
"Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.
23
I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every knee shall bow,
Every tongue shall take an oath." [Isa 45:22-23]
"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." [Phil 2:9-11]
----
I am still a believer in Christ, still believe in Christ as the only way, still believe that you need to Believe in Him, that man must give an account, but I can't help but see all this in scripture also.
God loves to create this tension in scripture but the cross resolves it all.
You don't need to agree with this.
the Key is... Choose Life now, uninterrupted life, zoe, eternal life that gives you immorality and incorruption... or stay in death, die, experience loss, ruin, for aionon (ages), until you pay the last farthing.. But the Cross started the process for you... you must believe. and All things will be summed in Christ. And all things that came out of Him will go back to Him.
So that is why Paul made the incredulous statement that the Love of Christ compel me to conclude "When One died, all men died..." The Cross started the process for every one who was in Adam who died in Adam, to be made alive in Christ each in his own order.
Most believers are not compelled by the Love of God to conclude that. They are compel by some self serving need to be judge and conclude that God cannot make the impossible possible in the end, that His definition of salvation is NOT every knee bow, and every tongue confess that He is Lord.
Christ is Life. He is the Light of all men, of all things He created. Is there darkness? Yes. But darkness cannot escape the light wherever it may be found. Even outer darkness.
"In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."
He that has the Son has Life and He that has not the Son has not Life.
