Lake of Fire Part 1
NOTE: The Lake of Fire which is actually a river in Dan 7:10, is in the outer court.
What many fail to realize is that the Lake of Fire is the Heavenly representation of the Brazen Laver - of the Sea of Molten Glass, located in the outer court. Note it's location. Why was it called the Sea of Molten Glass? Because the Brazen Laver was made with women's bronze mirrors melted. [Ex 38:8]
Example 1: The sons of the Kingdom
The sons of the Kingdom through into the outer darkness. Outer darkness means outside the city, and outside the effects of the lights of the city.
"But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” [Matt 8:12]
The same weeping and gnashing of teeth involves furnace of fire.
"41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." [Matt 13:41-42]
This furnace of fire talk, in outer darkness was prophesied with Israel in the furnace, and the purpose was to purge away dross, take away the tares:
"17 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 18 “Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; they are all bronze, tin, iron, and lead, in the midst of a furnace; they have become dross from silver. 19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20 As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you. 21 Yes, I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall you be melted in its midst; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have poured out My fury on you.’” [Ezek 22:17-22]
Jerusalem was melted.
"Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord God" [Ezek 22:31]
Israel was melted and dross taken in his wrath. But the effect is to purify for Himself a people.
"But who can endure the day of His coming?
And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner’s fire
And like launderers’ soap.

He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And purge them as gold and silver,
That they may offer to the Lord
An offering in righteousness.
4 “Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem
Will be pleasant to the Lord," [Mal 3:2-4]

So
1. Lake of Fire is the same as the Brazen Laver - Sea of Glass used to purify the priests
2. Christ said that the Jews, the sons of the Kingdom, would be cast into the outer darkness, where the Lake of Fire, the furnace is found.
3. Ezekiel referred to this process as taking away the dross
4. Malachi refers to it as the refiners fire, the purifier

Example 2: Sodom and Gomorrah - More tolerable judgment than Israel
"But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.” [Matt 11:24]
What was Sodom's judgment? Eternal Fire.
"as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." [Jude 1:7]
Israel received the same as Sodom's example but worse... suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
But Sodom would be restored before Jerusalem, because Jerusalem did worse than Sodom....
“As I live,” says the Lord God, “neither your sister Sodom nor her daughters have done as you and your daughters have done. [Ezekiel 16:48]
"When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters return to their former state, then you and your daughters will return to your former state. "[Ezekiel 15:55]
So:
1. Sodom received more tolerable eternal fire
2. Yet Sodom would be returned to her former state
3. Israel got worse eternal fire, suffered the vengeance of eternal fire.
4. the Sons of the Kingdom were cast into outer darkness
5. Yet Jerusalem [Ezekiel 16:1] with all her abominations were told they can return, just like Sodom from eternal fire.

Example 3:
- Those who were cast into the Lake of Fire in Rev 20, where were they found? Outside the city, in outer darkness where the sun does not shine.
- They are not only found outside the New City, but inexplicable ON THE NEW EARTH....
"14 Blessed are those who do His commandments,[g] that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But[h] outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely."" Rev
22:14-17
- They are not only on the new earthm but are told by the Spirit and Bride, who obviously have NO head to be healed by the fruit of the tree of life, or to drink from the river of life, to come and drink.. (And Christ has no need to come and drink Himself)
